Intermediate Obedience Training
Dogs 6 months or older- $3200
The Intermediate Training package is a 2 week board and train program designed for dogs that have completed the Basic Obedience Program or have mastered all the commands on Leash. In this program all the basic commands are advanced with distractions added in. We begin Off-Leash training and teach in additional commands in bold below.
All training packages include transportation, a training lesson upon return, 2 follow-up lesson(s) and all necessary training equipment. I am available for any questions/concerns that may arise after the return.
- GET DRESSED- dog should sit and stay while collar or training gear is put on
- READY- Dog should look up at you. This is to get the dog's focus and help settle to start training work.
- SIT- Command should only be said once
- DOWN- Command should only be said once, and position must be held until released with “free”
- DOWN STAY- Down Command should only be said once, stay can be repeated and reinforced throughout the exercise
- FREE - Release word for all commands
- OFF - off furniture, not jumping on people, etc.
- LEAVE IT- turn focus away from garbage, food, other dogs, things on the street, etc.
- DROP IT- release whatever object your dog may have in its mouth
- LET’S GO - walk beside you on a loose lead
- WAIT - stops forward motion allowing you to gain control before proceeding useful at doorways, curbs, and in and out of vehicles on command
- COME - give the “Come” command only when your dog is on a short or long lead*
- GO POTTY- use this command to encourage your dog to relieve himself
- KENNEL - command to enter crate
- NO BITE- stop all mouthing
- QUIET - stop whining, barking, etc.
- BACK - take several steps backwards and give you some personal space
- PLACE- boundary marker, stay on mat, good for holding position (ex: during dinner time)
- HERE- recall and sit beside you until released with “free”
